RocketStream Station’s client interface allows the user to establish multiple connections to RocketStream Servers and other RocketStream Stations, provided that the user has access privileges on those target computers. Station can then push files to or pull files from the target computers. Station can tune the amount of bandwidth it wishes to use, or it can run at maximum speed. Depending on the amount of bandwidth available, maximum speed can be more than 100x faster than traditional FTP-over-TCP. Station Pro can also automate the file transfer process. File transfer jobs can be scheduled, or Station can automatically synchronize to or from a server. Station also supports hot folders and mirroring with the server. |
Be a server
RocketStream Station’s server capabilities allow the user to define password-protected accounts and share folders for clients (other RocketStream Stations and Uplinks) to access. However, unlike RocketStream Server, Station can only serve a limited number of clients concurrently.
While acting as a server, RocketStream Station offers a complete suite of surveillance and control features. Client access requires password authentication and can be limited to specified directories. Client activity can be monitored, and available bandwidth can be tuned on a per-client basis.
Tailor performance to your network
RocketStream Station uses the RocketStream Protocol to send and receive files. It offers the option to select the UDP setting for high-bandwidth pipes (typically above 5 Mb/s) or to select the PDP setting when less bandwidth is available or firewalls do not allow proprietary protocols to pass.
Express and Pro versions
RocketStream Station is available in Express and Pro versions. While both versions support full on-the-fly data encryption, the Pro version also features an option for on-the-fly compression and decompression of files in transit, further enhancing RocketStream’s tremendous speed. RocketStream Station Pro can also administer RocketStream Server.
Station Pro can also automate the file transfer process by scheduling jobs or automatically synchronizing to or from a server. Station Pro also supports hot folders and mirroring with the server.
Station Express supports file transfers up to a maximum data rate of 10 Mb/s, while Station Pro does not have any pre-set limitation. Finally, Station Express can serve a maximum of two concurrent inbound connections, while Station Pro can serve three.
